The DC Bar Foundation’s tenth annual “Go Casual for Justice” denim-day inspired fundraising campaign kicks off on Monday, 22 October! Started in conjunction with Pro Bono week in 2009, Go Casual is one of the Foundation’s signature campaigns, where we partner with law offices and other workplaces in DC to raise money for civil legal aid in DC. Funds raised go towards direct grants to organizations that provide legal aid, training and technical assistance, and the Foundation’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
In the campaign’s first year, “Go Casual for Justice” brought together 30 law firms and raised $30,000. Last year, more than 65 law firms, corporate law departments, banks, and other workplaces came together and raised over $60,000. In celebration of Go Casual’s ten year anniversary, the DC Bar Foundation has set a goal of raising $70,000 from workplaces and individuals who are committed to justice, just like you.
Want to help? It’s easy! You can register your organization to participate by contacting the DC Bar Foundation. Once your workplace is registered, you and your colleagues simply make a gift to DCBF and participate by dressing down at work, or perhaps another type of “themed” day. This year’s campaign concludes on 21 December. Don’t miss your chance to join us and help make access to justice a reality for all DC residents!
