The DC Legal Aid Transformations Network held its final meeting for 2022 on December 14. This meeting was geared toward building connections, so participants spent most of the Convening in subnetwork breakout sessions, strategizing ways to increase collaboration and exploring ways to meet clients' needs. They worked diligently and began planning for 2023 while chipping away at tensions they are noticing within legal aid and how best to address them as we move forward.
Ariel Levinson-Waldman, founding president, and director-counsel at Tzedek DC and co-chair of the Consortium, shared an update about Coordinated Intake and Referral System (CIR), and Joseph Schieffer, CEO of A2J Tech, provided an update on the CIR technology infrastructure.
During the meeting, we shared some pre-convening reading material and a special video with information on the 2nd annual DC Legal Aid Transformations Network Survey by Amanda Beacom, Visible Network Labs.
There's more to come in 2023. Join us for the first Convening of the year on March 8 from 1-4 p.m., and mark your calendars for our first in-person Convening scheduled for June 14.
