Introducing our Avenues to Justice Panelists

There are just two weeks left until Avenues to Justice on July 12! We hope you will join us at Hunton Andrews Kurth for an insightful panel conversation about the intersection of wellbeing and civil legal aid and are excited to announce the panelists who will engage in this discussion:

  • George Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Bread for the City

  • Allison Dowling, Medical-Legal Partnership Director at the Georgetown University Health Justice Alliance Law Clinic

  • Daniel del Pielago, Housing Director at Empower DC

The Full Frame Initiative defines wellbeing as “the set of needs and experiences universally required in combination and balance to weather challenges and have health and hope.” Wellbeing touches all aspects of our work and is crucial in transforming DC’s civil legal aid network so all District residents can have a fair and equal legal experience. You can learn more about why and how the Foundation is infusing wellbeing into our work in 2023 in the lead article from our January newsletter.

The Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council aims to raise $60,000 through this year’s Avenues to Justice event. So far, we have raised $29,854,073 – or 49% of our goal – from the generous individual and corporate sponsors below. Will you help us raise the remaining $30,146? Individual and Corporate sponsorships are available at several levels to fit your needs. Sponsors receive a varying number of tickets to attend a rooftop happy hour with heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks from 5:00 – 6:00 PM, followed by the main event at 6:00 PM.

All proceeds from Avenues to Justice benefit the DC Bar Foundation’s work of providing equal access to justice within our community by strengthening, expanding, and transforming the District’s civil legal aid network. Learn more about how we work toward this goal by visiting our website.

Thank you for supporting the DC Bar Foundation through Avenues to Justice. See you on July 12!
