Letter from the Executive Director

As 2017 comes to an end, we reflect on all that has been accomplished, and even more on all that is still left to do. December is a time for holiday cheer, as well as helping our DC neighbors secure equal access to justice. I would like to thank all of you for your continuous support of the Foundation’s initiatives, both new and ongoing.

In this month’s newsletter, learn about our newly established mid-level donor recognition program, the 77 Society, and how you can become a member. Your generosity at this time of year is especially poignant; as the weather cools and outside conditions become unbearable, many of the homeless in DC have few resources to help survive the season. The DC Bar Foundation supports multiple organizations working to combat homelessness and provide for low-income DC residents in poverty. One such organization is Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, featured in this month’s newsletter for its work to provide vital services to all DC residents facing poverty and homelessness. This season, consider supporting the many needs and issues of the homeless by supporting the DC Bar Foundation and its work with grantees and community partners.

On behalf of the DC Bar Foundation, I would like to send well wishes to all of you during this holiday season. Thank you for all your work in supporting the needs of the many District residents requiring legal aid.

Sincerely,

Kirra L. Jarratt, Executive Director
