2024 is coming to a close, but there is still time for both individuals and corporations to make a year-end gift to the DC Bar Foundation!
Donations to the DC Bar Foundation support several key efforts, including providing training programs for legal aid lawyers, providing financial support to those same attorneys through our Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), and bolstering the Foundation’s General Support Grants, which distribute critical unrestricted funding to legal aid organizations in DC.
This funding help some of our grantee partners cover important operational costs that often cannot be covered by other grants they receive, making it more possible for them to maintain programs, maximize impact, and serve clients needing civil legal aid. In many cases, our General Support Grants help these organizations keep the lights on to continue offering life-saving services to residents in need.
The efforts detailed above are funded in part by contributions from generous donors like you and are an absolutely vital financial resource, especially for smaller, lesser-known legal services organizations in the District.
Our birds-eye view of DC’s legal services landscape puts us in the unique position to transform your gift into real-world impact by identifying the areas of greatest need within the community, developing innovative solutions for problems faced by District residents, and facilitating collaboration among organizations from multiple sectors–legal aid and others–to close the gap between legal services and those who need them most.

Corporations can also support the DC Bar Foundation by joining our annual Call to Action campaign. This year, through the generosity of DC-area law firms and corporations, we aim to raise $612,000 for civil legal aid in DC. So far, together we have raised $123,125, or 20% of our goal. Law firms and other corporations that have not yet joined our annual Call to Action campaign can learn more and make a gift before year-end by visiting our website.
