Help Test the CIR System
The Intake Network hosted an Intake Town Hall on March 19. DCBF staffers Michanda Myles (Network Project Manager) and Dina Cruz (CIR Program Manager) teamed up with Joseph Schieffer (CEO of A2J Tech) for a discussion on the CIR System with 20 intake workers from over a dozen organizations. The CIR team is currently recruiting intake workers to test initial builds of the system. Interested intake workers can sign up here.
The Intake Network is open to all intake professionals in the legal services community. This monthly virtual space allows intake workers to connect with colleagues at other organizations, share best practices and referral resources, and participate in trainings. Please share this information with any intake workers at your organizations who may wish to join. Please contact innovation@dcbarfoundation.org to be added to the Slack group and meeting invitation.
Save the Date: President's Reception May 2
The DC Bar Foundation's 77 Society provides crucial funds for our efforts to transform DC's civil legal aid network. Members of the 77 Society generously donate $1,000 or more to the Foundation each fiscal year (October 1 – September 30), creating a necessary and steady flow of resources that help us continue our work.
Founded in 2017, the 77 Society is made up of generous members who give to the Foundation at various giving tiers: Friends of Justice ($1,000 - $2,500), Advocates of Justice ($2,500 - $4,999), Champions of Justice ($5,000 - $9,999) and Pillars of Justice ($10,000 and above).
To show our gratitude for their generosity and dedication to our work, the Foundation hosts an annual President's Reception in their honor. Please save the date for this year's reception on May 2, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. If you would like to join us for the reception, please renew your 77 Society membership or join today.
To learn more about this opportunity, please email Daryl Byler, Director of Development and Communications, at byler@dcbarfoundation.org.
Will you sponsor the inaugural DC Walk for Justice 5K?
The DC Bar Foundation invites you to partner with us to launch the inaugural DC Walk for Justice 5K on October 24, 2024. We aim to raise $250,000 for the District's pressing civil legal needs. By supporting a network of legal aid providers, the Foundation helps more than 30,000 District residents each year secure the fundamentals of life – the roof over your head, family stability, personal safety, and financial sustainability.
By sponsoring this event, you will foster closer ties with the community, create a tangible and lasting social impact, and position your organization as a leader in promoting public safety and wellbeing for District residents. You will also make your employees proud to be connected to a justice-minded workplace.
There are several corporate sponsor tiers with varying benefits that are sure to fit your company or firm's needs. At what sponsorship level can we count on you?
For information on in-kind sponsorships or instructions for completing payment via ACH, please contact Daryl Byler, DCBF Director of Development and Communications, at byler@dcbarfoundation.org or (202) 853-9025.
