PRESS RELEASE: DC Bar Foundation Names New Members to its Board of Directors

[District of Columbia, December 2, 2024] – The DC Bar Foundation has named four new members to its Board of Directors. "The Foundation welcomes these four leaders to our Board of Directors. This incoming group offers a unique combination of both fresh perspectives and tenured experience with the Foundation's Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council, which will serve us well as we work to transform the District's civil legal aid network," says DC Bar Foundation CEO Kirra Jarratt.

 

Kimberly LeBlanc-Ross is Senior Lead Counsel at the American Red Cross and an Adjunct Professor at American University's Washington College of Law, where she teaches a seminar on the practice of law. She is active in various community organizations and legal bar associations, including serving several years on the DC Bar Foundation's Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council. She provides counsel and guidance on labor and employment issues ranging from compliance with various federal and state laws to negotiating union contracts. She has extensive experience with class actions and general commercial litigation matters. Ms. LeBlanc-Ross received her undergraduate degree from Temple University, an MBA from American University's Kogod School of Business, and her JD from American University's Washington College of Law.

 

Liz Oyer was appointed Pardon Attorney for the US Department of Justice in April 2022. Before her appointment, Ms. Oyer spent 10 years as a federal public defender. She served as Senior Litigation Counsel to the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland, representing individuals at all stages of proceedings and in all types of criminal cases in federal district court. In addition, she was the Office's ethics advisor, discovery policy coordinator, and mentor to junior attorneys. Previously, Ms. Oyer was a partner in Mayer Brown LLP's Washington, DC office, where she practiced civil and criminal litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.  She also maintained an active pro bono practice. Ms. Oyer received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She received her JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.


Lori Parris serves as the Chief of Staff to the Director for the Prince George's County Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement, where she is responsible for the management and performance of Administrative Services, Information Technology Divisions, Customer Service and Public Information Division, Prince George's County Boards and Commissions, and the Administrative Hearings Unit. Ms. Parris is also the advisor on all policy and state and local legislative affairs. She collaborates with the Director to ensure that the Agency meets its strategic and policy initiatives within budgetary constraints. Ms. Parris received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her JD from Suffolk University Law School.

 

Adam Pollet is a partner in Eversheds Sutherland's Securities Enforcement and Litigation practice, where he regularly defends financial institutions, broker-dealers, investment advisers, and individuals in regulatory investigations and enforcement matters involving the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and state securities regulators. He also represents his clients in complex financial services litigation, securities class-action litigation, and FINRA arbitrations. In addition, Mr. Pollet advises his clients in internal investigations and regulatory examinations and counsels them on various regulatory and compliance matters. He co-founded the firm's Litigation Technology Working Group, whose mission is to identify and implement cutting-edge technology to provide cost-effective ways to achieve clients' goals and offer unmatched client-facing tools. He also maintains a robust pro bono practice focusing primarily on criminal justice issues and is deeply involved in community outreach programs; he served several years on the DC Bar Foundation's Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council. Mr. Pollet received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
