The Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council (YLN LC) invites you to join us for the annual Avenues to Justice fundraiser event, benefitting the DC Bar Foundation, on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Arnold & Porter.
Avenues to Justice 2024 will highlight the urgent access to justice crisis facing our community and how legal services organizations are working to ensure that every resident has the means to safeguard their legacy, maintain stable housing, and provide for their loved ones. The DC Bar Foundation's grantee partners are making significant strides to demystify the estate planning and probate process through comprehensive community education, advocacy for streamlined legal procedures, and direct help and advice.
This year's expert panelists include:
The Honorable Laura Cordero, Presiding Judge of the Probate and Tax Division for the DC Superior Court;
Rhonda Cunningham Holmes, Executive Director of Legal Counsel for the Elderly
A representative from the DC Bar Pro Bono Center, to be announced.
With a catered happy hour preceding the main event, Avenues to Justice offers an excellent opportunity for networking and building connections with justice-minded professionals. For this reason, Avenues is also a valuable addition to any firm's summer associates’ calendar, exposing future attorneys to the pressing civil legal issues facing District residents.
This year, the Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council aims to raise $72,000 for DC's civil legal aid network through Avenues to Justice. Corporate and individual sponsorships are available at various levels to fit your needs.
So far, our generous corporate and individual sponsors have contributed over $11,500. Can we count on you to help us reach our goal?
