The year 2023 is coming to a close. Will you make a gift to the DC Bar Foundation before the year ends?
Our birds-eye view of DC’s legal services landscape puts us in the unique position to best determine where your dollars are needed most. Gifts to the Foundation are used strategically to ensure the greatest impact.
And as the Foundation continues to distribute record-breaking dollars to legal services organizations, we also continue to expand our impact beyond grantmaking by supporting the civil legal aid network in many ways:
Providing loan repayment assistance to legal aid attorneys with educational debt;
Supporting grantee partner networks who share resources and knowledge to serve their clients;
Providing training and technical assistance for legal aid attorneys to keep their skills sharp and systems efficient; and
Hearing directly from community members about their needs and prioritizing their input in our work.
And though the DC Bar Foundation’s work extends beyond grantmaking, the grants we distribute are a key pillar of our work that infuse vital resources into DC legal services organizations. General Support grants, funded partly by private contributions from generous donors like you, provide unrestricted funds to help cover overhead costs, which often cannot be covered by other grants these organizations receive. Our General Support grants are a necessary financial resource for many smaller, lesser-known groups in the District that provide life-saving legal services.
These diverse initiatives are converging to transform the way that District residents seek out and receive life-saving legal services. By supporting the DC Bar Foundation, you can be a part of these transformative efforts.
Join us in our commitment to transform DC’s civil legal aid network by giving $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 to the DC Bar Foundation before December 31. Donations of $1,000 or more will qualify you as a member of our 77 Society. You can give online or send a check to DC Bar Foundation, 200 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20001.
